Full Trailer for THE CROW Sees Bill Skarsgård on a Dark Journey of Brutal Vengeance
The full trailer for Lionsgate’s reboot of The Crow has arrived, retelling the brutal revenge story of Eric Draven, and it’ll be interesting to see how fans react to it. One of my first thoughts is that, as expected, the movie doesn’t look as good as Alex Proyas’ original film.
This new movie definitely leans into the brutal violence and blood and at one point we see Eric Draven getting shot in the chest, which immediately made me think of how Brandon Lee tragically died while shooting the original film. It makes me wonder if the marketing team did that on purpose to elicit that reaction, but I didn’t like it.
As for Bill Skarsgård (It) as the lead character, I was expecting something more interesting. I don’t know, the trailer didn’t sell me on the movie. But, maybe some of you will like what you see and give the movie a chance.
In the film: “Soulmates Eric Draven (Skarsgård) and Shelly Webster (FKA Twigs) are brutally murdered when the demons of her dark past catch up with them. Given the chance to save his true love by sacrificing himself, Eric sets out to seek merciless revenge on their killers, traversing the worlds of the living and the dead to put the wrong things right.”
This version of the movie comes from director Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman, Ghost in the Shell), and it also stars singer/actor FKA Twigs, Danny Huston (30 Days of Night), Laura Birn (Foundation), Sami Bouajila (A Son), and Jordan Bolger (The Woman King).
The Crow reboot will released in theaters on June 7, 2024. Watch the trailer and tell us what you think!
