Gabriel Luna Enters His Serial Killer Era With DEXTER: RESURRECTION Season 2 Casting

Things are about to get even more dangerous in the world of Dexter: Resurrection. Showtime has added Gabriel Luna to the cast for Season 2, and he's stepping into the role of a brand-new serial killer.

Luna has been cast as Ray Ballard, a killer who operates under the chilling alias The Sleepy-Eyed Stranger. While details about the character are being kept under wraps, the nickname alone makes it easy to imagine the kind of unsettling presence he'll bring to the series.

Luna joins an impressive lineup of killers and familiar faces returning for the next chapter. Brian Cox is set to play The New York Ripper, while Uma Thurman returns as Charley.

Dan Stevens will appear as The Five Borough Killer, Bokeem Woodbine is back as Capt. Mixon, and Nona Parker Johnson reprises her role as Fiona Mixon. It was also previously announced that Krysten Ritter will guest star during the season.

With Dexter Morgan surrounded by a growing collection of deadly personalities, Season 2 is shaping up to deliver another twisted game of cat and mouse. Luna has built a career playing memorable heroes and antiheroes, so watching him embrace a full-on serial killer role should make for an exciting change of pace.

The series comes from Emmy-nominated showrunner and executive producer Clyde Phillips, with Michael C. Hall returning as Dexter Morgan. Hall, who won a SAG Award and Golden Globe for his work, continues to lead the franchise's latest chapter as everyone's favorite blood-spatter analyst with a very dark hobby.

If you haven't caught up yet, Season 1 of Dexter: Resurrection is currently available to binge on Paramount+ with the Paramount+ Premium Plan.
