Glen Powell Says He Has a Start Date for TOP GUN 3
When Top Gun: Maverick became a massive success, we all knew that Paramount Pictures and Tom Cruise would want to make a third film, but it’s something that they aren’t rushing into.
Producer Jerry Bruckheimer previously talked about Top Gun 3 saying: “We spent time with him. We have a story. Joe Kosinski had a wonderful story idea for it, and he [Tom Cruise] said I really like that, so we're developing it.”
Just because they have a story, though, the film is nowhere near ready for production. The producer previously, “We had preliminary stuff. We're not there yet. [There's] ways to go."
Now, Glen Powell has shared a super brief update regarding the film. During an interview with the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Powell was asked about Top Gun 3, and all he said was, “I mean, I have a date.”
So, there’s a start date on the project, but the actor doesn’t reveal any other information.
Paramount hired Top Gun: Maverick co-writer Ehren Kruger to work on a script for the sequel and the studio is also hoping that Joseph Kosinski will jump back into the cockpit for the project.
Cruise will return, and he will also be joined by Miles Teller.
