GOOD OMENS Stars Michael Sheen and David Tennant Discuss Possible Season 3 and Time Periods They'd Like To Explore

After a long four-year wait, Good Omens is back with its second season on Prime Video. I’m still in the process of watching it, but so far I’m loving what I’ve seen! Neil Gaiman is continuing this story in a fun and interesting way.

The first season of Good Omens was originally planned as a one-off limited series because there was only one book to adapt. But, when the series was a hit, Amazon wanted to make a second season, and Gaiman jumped on board to make it happen.

Gaiman previously shared that he never intended for Season 2's arc to be the second installment. He and Terry Pratchett had already worked on a sequel for the fantasy comedy, but this current season is not the story they came up with. Gaiman came up with a different story for Season 2 that could serve as a connection between the first season and the third season, if it happens. So, Season 3 would tell the sequel story that he and Pratchett came up with.

We don’t know what that third chapter of the story would entail or if it will happen but in a recent interview with stars David Tennant and Michael Sheen, they talked about the possibility of a third season during an interview with CB, with Tennant saying: "Well, it's not in our gift.” Sheen then added: “Yeah. If it was up to us, that would be one thing, but… I mean, hopefully, let's just hope that enough people watch Season 2 to make it ineffable.”

The actors were then asked if there are any time periods they would want to explore in Season 3, to which Sheen responded: "Well, there's lots, isn't there?" Tennant added: “There's all sorts of possibilities, aren't there? I mean, we love doing those different time period scenes as well. They're such fun to do ... Partly because of the dressing up nature of it, but also because it does show little bits of the relationship and little aspects of the characters and how they've developed. And it's so wonderful to do."

Tennant then shared that it’s been fun to see Aziraphale and Crowley in the 80s: "It might be nice to see '80s Aziraphale and Crowley. I'd almost certainly be dressed as some sort of Gordon Gekko [Michael Douglas in Wall Street] figure." Sheen went on to share: "And I would be very [the British pop group] Haircut 100.”

I’m pretty confident that Good Omens will get a third season. This is a great show that has a lot of fans behind it and it also has major support from Amazon. Then there’s the fact that Gaiman already has a plan in place for Season 3. All of these are very good signs that point to a Season 3.

What are your thoughts on Good Omens Season 2?
