Gwyneth Paltrow May Return as Pepper Potts in AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY and SECRET WARS
A new report suggests that one of the Marvel’s original stars could be stepping back into the mix for the next massive Avengers events.
According to a new report from insider Daniel Richtman, Gwyneth Paltrow is expected to return in some capacity for Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. Paltrow famously played Pepper Potts across the Iron Man trilogy and through several of the MCU’s early crossover films, helping define the emotional backbone of that era.
At this point, the details are being kept under wraps. With Robert Downey Jr. now returning as Doctor Doom, it’s unclear how Pepper Potts fits into the story or how large her role might be. Still, her involvement would be another reconnection to the foundation the MCU was built on for these new films.
The returning roster includes Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Letitia Wright as Shuri, and Paul Rudd as Ant-Man.
The cast also includes Wyatt Russell as John Walker, Tenoch Huerta as Namor, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm, Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Kelsey Grammer as Beast, Lewis Pullman as Sentry, Danny Ramirez as Falcon, Joseph Quinn as Human Torch, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Winston Duke as M’Baku, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, and Tom Hiddleston as Loki.
On top of that, the multiverse angle is bringing several X-Men legends back into the spotlight with Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, James Marsden as Cyclops, and Channing Tatum as Gambit.
Bringing Pepper Potts back into the fold could add an emotional throughline that dates all the way back to the first Iron Man, and that kind of legacy connection feels right for stories this big. But, Tony Stark would have to be involved somehow, right?
Avengers: Doomsday is currently scheduled to hit theaters on December 18, 2026, with Avengers: Secret Wars following on December 17, 2027.
