INDIANA JONES Spinoff Series Has Reportedly Been Cancelled at Disney+

Several months ago, we reported that Disney+ was looking to make an Indiana Jones spinoff series based in the world of everyone’s favorite archaeologist. There were no official details on the series, except that is would not involve Harrison Ford, but sources said Disney and Lucasfilm had been meeting with writers and taking pitches for possible series ideas. Now, the ideas have stopped, as the series is reportedly dead.

Insider Jeff Sneider told The Hot Mic podcast that the untitled Indiana Jones spin-off series has been shelved, and Disney has reportedly told Lucasfilm to instead focus on its upcoming Star Wars projects instead.

The report comes after news dropped last week that the streamer canceled Willow, the sequel series to Lucasfilm's 1988 fantasy film of the same name. Since then, Willow’s showrunner spoke out saying that the series is not canceled, and they are writing Season 2.

Who knows what’s going on over there at Disney+? Maybe an Indiana Jones series will happen one day after all. I know fans would be glad to see Ke Huy Quan return as Short Round!
