Insider Confirms Sadie Sink Is 100% Playing Jean Grey in SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY
Ever since Sadie Sink joined the cast of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, fans have been trying to figure out exactly who she'll be playing. Numerous rumors have pointed toward one major possibility, and now a well-known insider is doubling down on that claim.
According to insider Daniel Richtman, "I can confirm that Sadie Sink is playing Jean Grey, 100%." That's about as definitive as a scoop can get.
At this stage, the Jean Grey rumors have become so widespread that if Sink ends up playing someone else when the film arrives on July 31, there are going to be a lot of scoopers of egg on their faces, scrambling to explain themselves.
Sink is also expected to appear in Avengers: Secret Wars, a project many fans believe could serve as the launching point for Marvel Studios' long-awaited X-Men era.
If the reports are accurate, introducing Jean Grey through Sink would instantly make her one of the MCU's most important new characters moving forward.
Following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Peter finds himself in a world that no longer remembers who he is. As he throws himself into crime-fighting full-time as Spider-Man and watches the people he once cared about continue their lives without him, Peter begins experiencing changes that could push him down an unexpected path.
According to the film's synopsis: "In Spider-Man: Brand New Day, it's a Brand New Day for Peter Parker. Fighting crime full-time as Spider-Man in a world that doesn’t remember him—and the pressure of seeing his old friends move on without him—sparks a change in Peter he may not have the power to control.
But that transformation might also be the only thing that can stop a shocking new threat to the city and those he loves - a powerful villain no one can even see. The world may have forgotten Peter Parker, but he hasn’t forgotten them."
The film is being directed by Destin Daniel Cretton from a screenplay by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.
Marvel and Sony haven't officially confirmed Sink's role just yet, but if Richtman's information proves accurate, fans may be getting their first glimpse at one of the MCU's most iconic mutants very soon.
Until then, the speculation continues, and Jean Grey remains one of the most talked-about possibilities surrounding Spider-Man: Brand New Day as it swings into theaters on July 31, 2026.
