Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick Are No Longer Working on Disney's PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN Reboot

When I heard that Disney was going to relaunch the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, I was not excited. Now, it looks like the sixth film in the franchise has run into some problems.

Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Deadpool) were brought on to write the film, but Disney insiders are now saying that the duo are no longer involved. According to Deadline, insiders are torn about what will now happen with Sean Bailey’s revival of the franchise. Some are thinking that new writers are being sought out while others think it will finally be the end of Pirates of the Caribbean.

Personally, I would vote for the franchise to finally be ended. It was previously rumored that Jack Sparrow will be replaced by a female pirate named Redd. This female pirate is actually the latest addition to the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at the Disney theme parks. Redd can be seen in the auction scene of the ride.

What do you think though? Do you still want the swashbuckling action these films provide? Do you have any interest in the reboot without Reese and Wernick?
