Savage New Trailer for MUTINY Unleashes Jason Statham on a Cargo Ship Full of Bad Guys
If you're the kind of movie fan who loves watching Jason Statham punch, shoot, outsmart, and beat the hell out of an army of criminals, Lionsgate's latest trailer for Mutiny should be right up your alley.
The second trailer for the upcoming action thriller has arrived, and it cranks everything up with bigger fights, explosive set pieces, and a cargo ship that quickly turns into Statham's personal battlefield.
What's especially fun is that this gives us two Statham action movies in 2026. He already kicked off the year with Shelter, and now he's back for another round of bone-crunching mayhem when Mutiny hits theaters this August.
The new footage leans heavily into what fans expect from a Statham movie. He's surrounded by enemies, caught in the middle of a deadly conspiracy, and isn't about to let anyone stand in his way.
Most of the action unfolds aboard a massive cargo ship that Reed infiltrates, where he's not only looking for revenge but also trying to rescue innocent people caught in the crossfire.
The trailer also has a great vibe thanks to its stylish presentation, flashes of intense red lighting, and a killer vocal track blasting in the background with the lyric, "I dun tussled with a whale!" It's a perfect match for the relentless action as Statham tears through wave after wave of bad guys without breaking a sweat.
In Mutiny, Statham stars as Cole Reed, a former Special Forces operative and one-time New York police officer who now works in private security. After his billionaire industrialist boss is murdered right in front of him, Reed is framed for the killing and forced to go on the run while trying to uncover the people actually responsible.
Joining Statham in the cast are Annabelle Wallis, Jason Wong as Taran, Roland Møller, Arnas Fedaravicius, and Adrian Lester.
The film is directed by Jean-François Richet, whose previous credits include Ma 6-T va crack-er, De l'amour, the 2005 remake of Assault on Precinct 13, Mesrine: Killer Instinct, Mesrine: Public Enemy No. 1, One Wild Moment, Blood Father, The Emperor of Paris, and Plane. The screenplay comes from J.P. Davis and Lindsay Michel, while Statham also serves as a producer alongside Marc Butan.
Mutiny looks like exactly the kind of hard-hitting action movie Statham fans are hoping for. It has brutal hand-to-hand combat, plenty of gunfire, an international conspiracy, and a hero who's more than happy to fight his way through anyone standing between him and the truth.
Mutiny crashes into theaters on August 21, 2026.
