IT: WELCOME TO DERRY Showrunner Confirms The FRIDAY THE 13TH-Inspired Series CRYSTAL LAKE Has Wrapped Filming
Fans of the Friday the 13th franchise have something to scream about. Brad Caleb Kane, the showrunner behind the upcoming IT: Welcome to Derry, has confirmed that his next horror project, the Friday the 13th prequel series Crystal Lake, has officially wrapped filming.
Kane took to Instagram to share the exciting update, writing,
“CRYSTAL LAKE wrap party was epic! I'm madly in love with and totally in awe of this stellar bunch of artists and humans. A fella couldn't ask for a more talented and wonderful group of collaborators. S1 (almost sorta not quite) done and dusted. More please and thank you.”
The upcoming Crystal Lake series is produced by A24 and headed to Peacock, and it stars Linda Cardellini as Pamela Voorhees, the infamous mother of horror icon Jason Voorhees.
In the original Friday the 13th, Pamela was the one wielding the machete, avenging her son’s death at Camp Crystal Lake. Since this new series is described as a prequel, it’s unclear if we’ll see that same storyline play out. But, I imagine Kane and the team will dive deeper into the twisted origins of the Voorhees family legend.
Crystal Lake doesn’t have a release date yet, but I’m lookiing forward to seeing how this show is going to turn out.
