James Cameron and Robert Rodriguez Swore a "Blood Oath" to Make the ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL Sequel
There’s been a lot of talk about the Alita: Battle Angel sequel recently from producer Jon Landau, and it’s getting fans pumped up for the possibility that it might actually happen! He and James Cameron have been having talks with director Robert Rodriguez, and they are all working to make this movie happen.
Well, Cameron and Rodriguez recently participated in a "Directors on Directors" interview with Variety, and while they were talking to each other, they swore a “blood oath” to make another Alita movie! They didn’t confirm anything, but now they have a blood oath in place, so you know… it has to happen.
There’s been some much talk about this movie recently that I’m pretty sure that the project is much further along than we think. I personally think at this point they’ve already made their pitch to Disney and that maybe they are waiting for the greenlight. I don’t know, but they are obviously all very excited to jump back into that world and continue the story!
Landau previously encouraged the Alita fans to keep pumping excitement for the sequel saying: "Alita Army! Way to go keep it up. I got, I tell you a funny story. I went back to Los Angeles. I've been in New Zealand for quite some time and I went back to Los Angeles over the summer and the day I was there, the first day back, I opened the Los Angeles Times and there's an ad from the Alita Army in color and I was like, 'There you go! Thank you. Keep it up!'"
There are a lot of Alita fans out there, and the excitement for the sequel is growing! With the creative team really pushing the hype right now, it would be such a huge disappointment if it didn’t happen.
