James Gunn Told Gal Gadot That She Has "Nothing to Worry About" in Regards to WONDER WOMAN 3

We don’t really know what the future holds for Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman in the DCU, but she previously revealed that James Gunn and Peter Safran were going to develop a Wonder Woman 3 with her. And as Gadot offers another update on her future as Wonder Woman, saying Gunn told her she has “nothing to worry about” with the future of the character, it seems like she might have something to worry about because reports are flooding in from major sources that Wonder Woman 3 is not in the works.

During a recent interview with Flaunt Magazine, Gadot said:

"I was invited to a meeting with James Gunn and Peter Safran [co-chairperson and CEO of DC alongside Gunn] and what they told me, and I’m quoting: 'You’re in the best hands, We’re going to develop Wonder Woman 3 with you. [We] love you as Wonder Woman – you’ve got nothing to worry about.' So time will tell."

However, according to a conflicting report from Variety, Wonder Woman 3 is not part of what Gunn and Safran have planned. So we’ll see how this all shakes out. Now, while Wonder Woman 3 may not currently be in active development, at some point maybe it will be. Gunn and Safran are only focused on the first phase of their plan right now, which we already knew didn’t involve another Wonder Woman movie with Gadot.

I like Gadot in the role of Wonder Woman, and I hope that one day we do get to see her in action in a great Wonder Woman movie. The last one that was made was pretty disappointing, but with the new leadership running DC studios that are focused on making quality films, if they do make another movie, it will be awesome.

When Gunn and Safran were making the transition as DC Studios co-CEOs, director Patty Jenkins pitched a script she developed for Wonder Woman 3 to the studio, but it ended up being a project that WB and DC Studios didn’t want to move forward with.

Are there any Wonder Woman stories that you’d like to see adapted into a new movie?
