Gal Gadot, James Gunn, and Peter Safran Will Develop WONDER WOMAN 3 Together

The future of Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman in the DCU has been pretty unclear since James Gunn and Peter Safran took over. Gunn did confirm that Gadot is still on board to play Wonder Woman but also admitted that he’s not sure what to do with her yet.

When Gunn was asked if any former stars have been in talks for the franchise's future, he said: "Some. We don't know. We've talked to Gal. She's up for doing stuff. We're not sure what we're going to do with that. Gadot later offered an update on the matter saying: "Things are being worked behind the scenes and once the right moment arrives, you'll know about it."

We’ve now got a new update from Gadot to share with you. While promoting her upcoming Netflix action movie Heart of Stone, the actress told CB that she will be developing Wonder Woman 3 with Gunn and Safran. She said:

“I love portraying Wonder Woman. It’s so close to and dear to my heart. From what I heard from James and from Peter is that we’re gonna develop a ‘Wonder Woman 3’ together.”

There’s just no word on when that will happen. When it does happen, though, I have no doubt that the three of them will come up with a solid new story to tell for Wonder Woman.

Around the time that Gunn and Safran were making the transition as DC Studios co-CEOs, Patty Jenkins pitched a script she developed for Wonder Woman 3 to the studio, but it ended up being a project that WB and DC Studios didn’t want to move forward with.

Gadot debuted as Wonder Woman in Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. She then went on to star in Wonder Woman and Wonder Woman 1984. Gadot’s Wonder Woman also appeared in Justice League and had cameos in DC films such as Shazam! Fury of the Gods and The Flash.

I’ve always liked Gadot in the role of Wonder Woman, and it will be interesting to see how they continue her story in the new DC cinematic universe that Gunn and Safran are building.

Gadot was then asked to weigh in on the new Superman casting, to which she replied: “I saw that they were testing, doing different screen tests, but I don’t know who got it, but it seemed like everyone was super legit and talented and, like, great. So I’m happy for them. It’s such a huge take-on and it’s such an exciting beginning to any actor, and I wish whoever it’s going to be the best of luck and enjoy the ride.”

Are you hoping to see Gadot back as Wonder Woman in the DCU?
