Jesse Plemons Rumored to Play Beast in Marvel’s X-MEN Reboot

The X-Men are coming to the MCU, and they will be ushed in with the Russo Bros.’ Avengers: Secret Wars. While Kevin Feige has confirmed that Marvel’s mutants won’t properly debut until then, speculation about who will be cast as the beloved mutant characters is already in overdrive.

The latest rumor says that Jesse Plemons is being eyed to play Dr. Hank McCoy, better known as Beast.

This little tidbit of news comes from industry insider Jeff Sneider, who dropped the potential casting news on The Hot Mic podcast. He shared:

“I heard a rumor for Beast,” Sneider teased before revealing Plemons’ name. He also pointed out that he is the kind of actor “who conveys like a certain intelligence and yet is also a bit menacing.” That balance of intellect and intensity makes him a strong fit for the character.

Sneider has been keeping tabs on other potential X-Men casting choices as well. According to current reports, Stranger Things star Sadie Sink is a contender for Jean Grey, while The Substance’s Margaret Qualley and The Fabelmans’ Julia Butters are rumored for Rogue and Kitty Pryde, respectively. Babygirl actor Harris Dickinson is also reportedly in the mix for Cyclops.

The rumors make for great fan conversations, but it’s important to remember that Marvel hasn’t confirmed anything yet. Feige has been tight-lipped about the X-Men reboot, and with Secret Wars still a few years away, it might be some time before we get official casting news.

But if Plemons does end up as Beast, he’d be great in the role!
