Joel and Ethan Coen Are Developing a New Film Project Together

Directors Joel and Ethan Coen have made a lot of great films together over the years, and their filmmaking partnership began with the 1984 neo-noir film Blood Simple. Some of their other films include Fargo, The Big Lebowski, No Country For Old Men, True Grit, and more.

The two brothers have since gone their separate ways developing projects on their own. It makes sense that they’d want to take some time and do some solo projects! In 2021 Joel released The Tragedy of Macbeth starring Denzel Washington and Frances McDormand, and Ethan just made a road trip crime comedy titled Drive-Away Dolls, which has yet to be released.

Well, Ethan recently revealed in the recent issue of Empire that he is developing a new project with Joel, and it is a priority project that will happen before his next planned pairing with his wife Tricia Cooke, who worked with him on Drive Away Dolls as a co-writer and producer.

There’s no information on what this next film will be, but fans are speculating that it will be another neo-noir story. Others say that it could be their long-awaited adaptation of James Dickey's To the White Sea, which is said to be one of the greatest unmade screenplays in Hollywood. But, we’ll just have to wait and see!

I’m just happy that the Coen Brothers are teaming up again for a new movie!
