Jon Favreau Set to Direct New STAR WARS Film THE MANDALORIAN & GROGU
Lucasfilm has officially announced a new Star Wars film that’s in development titled The Mandalorian & Grogu, and the movie will be directed and produced by The Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau!
This is pretty exciting news! I’ve been wondering if we would even see The Mandalorian and Grogu on the big screen, and now it’s officially happening! Kathleen Kennedy and Dave Filoni are also producing and the movie will go into production this year, 2024!
Favreau shared in a statement: “I have loved telling stories set in the rich world that George Lucas created. The prospect of bringing the Mandalorian and his apprentice Grogu to the big screen is extremely exciting.”
Kennedy added: "Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni have ushered into Star Wars two new and beloved characters, and this new story is a perfect fit for the big screen.”
There are no details to share on the story right now, but it will obviously continue the story of the adventures of The Mandalorian and Grogu, and it will be a story worthy of the big screen! I assume this film will be in addition to a fourth season of The Mandalorian, but that has not been clarified. However, there was a rumor a few months ago that The Mandalorian Season 4 would be turned into a movie.
There’s also no word on whether Pedro Pascal will reprise his role as Din Djarin, but I think it’s safe to say that at least he’ll be back to provide the voice of the character.
