Josh Hutcherson Says FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S 2 Is in Development and He's Excited to Start Shooting

It took Blumhouse over a decade to get its Five Nights at Freddy’s movie made and released in theaters, and it was worth the wait. The movie actually ended up being great! At least, I enjoyed it! A sequel for the film is now in development, and the studio is hoping to shoot it later this year for a Halloween 2024 release.

The star of the film, Josh Hutcherson, recently shared an update on the sequel, saying: “I know they’re in the process right now of nailing down the story, and they want to get going as soon as possible. Obviously, the fans are amazing and die hard. For me to be a part of it was was so cool and phenomenal.”

The actor went on to talk about wanting the film to connect with audiences, and talked about his excitement about getting back on set to shoot: “We hoped it would connect with audiences. But I don’t think that anybody, even on our side of things, expected it to really connect the way that it did. I’m dying to get back on set. Emma Tammi, our director, was fantastic, and it was such a fun world to play in. I’m excited to see what they are doing next.”

I honestly have no idea if they are actually going to be able to pull off a 2024 Halloween release and keep the quality of the film as strong as the first one. But, good luck to the creative team! If they managed to make that happen, I’ll give everyone on the creative team a high five!
