Katee Sackhoff on How Uncomfortable The Viper Ship Was in BATTLESTAR GALACTICA Compared To The Guantlet in THE MANDLAORIAN

Katee Sackhoff has spent a lot of time working on some genre projects over the years one of the most awesome roles was when she played Lieutenant Starbuck in the Battlestar Galactica reboot of the 2000s. She was so awesome in that show and that was such a cool character for her to play.

Now, she’s back in sci-fi action thanks to the Star Wars series The Mandalorian where she plays Mandalorian warrior, Bo-Katan Kryze, and fans are loving how her story arc is playing out! But, in each of the shows, she gets to fly around in some iconic vehicles… Starbuck’s Viper starfighter ship in Battlestar, and Bo-Katan's Kom'rk-class fighter/transport ship, The Gauntlet.

During a recent interview with CB at MegaCon Orlando, Sackhoff was asked about the two ships and which one was the most comfortable to play around in. She immediately responded, "The Gauntlet, for sure," and then proceeded to talk about how uncomfortable the Viper ship was and how one day she was trapped in it because the crew of Battlestar forgot she was in it!

"I was notoriously left in my Viper during lunch one day. They forgot about me. Because like once you were in there, you're in there. Like they five-point harness you; there's a hose they would put in the back of your suit because it's so hot in there; and the helmet had no air-flow. So you just got in there and it was like a perfect scenario to fall asleep, and they left me in there... so that might actually be the most comfortable [laughs]. With all of its accouterment, it's probably the most comfortable.”

So, Bo-Katan's Gauntlet ship is the most comfortable to ride around in, but if you’re looking to take a nap, then… the Viper. I just thought that was an amusing story that she told. It would have sucked to have been left trapped in that thing!

There’s a lot of hype surrounding Sackhoff right now because of her character’s story arc in The Mandalorian, and it must be so awesome for her that her character is becoming one of the most interesting and beloved in Star Wars right now.
