THE MANDALORIAN Season 3 "The Pirate" - Bo Katan's Story Arc is Getting Exciting and There Was a Big REBELS Cameo
Disney+ recently dropped the latest episode of The Mandalorian Season 3 titled “The Pirate,” and once again, we have a winner! I’ve especially been enjoying Bo Katan’s (Katee Sackhoff) story arc this season. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it sure is getting incredibly exciting and I’ve been so happy with her journey and where it has taken her to this point.
She was a favorite character of mine in Rebels, so to see her continue to grow and her journey continue in this way has been very satisfying. It’s crazy because I actually found myself getting emotional about where her story has led her.
Seeing the Mythosaur, sharing that information with The Armorer, and now having The Armorer set her on a path to walk both worlds so that she can unite all the Mandalorian tribes to retake Mandalore is just one of the greatest things ever!
I imagine this isn’t going to be an easy mission for her, but it will probably be a lot easier for her when she tames and rides the Mythosaur that she saw! That moment is coming, and it’s going to be epic! Star Wars fans are going to flip the freak out! It has to happen!
She is going to reach her full potential and in the process, at some point, she may have to fight Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) for the Darksaber, and that would definitely make for an interesting dynamic between the two characters.
Then there’s the fact that a tribe of Mandalorian broke Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) out from the rebels, and he is now free roaming the universe. Unless the shadows of the Empire just made it look like it was the Mandalorians who broke him out. It’s going to be awesome to see how this story continues to play out!
I also just wanted to point out a huge Rebels cameo in the new episode! I’m sure you didn’t miss it, but I just had to talk about it!
The episode features the return of New Republic pilot Carson Teva, and at one point he walks into a cantina talking to a large member of the Lasat species. It turns out that the character he talks to is none other than Garazeb Orrelios, a.k.a. Zeb, from Rebels!
This is the first time we've seen him in his live-action form, and it was really cool! The credits confirm that this is indeed Zeb with Steve Blum once again voicing the character. I have no doubt that this won’t be the last we see of this character as I believe he will appear in the upcoming Ahsoka series.
Aksoka will see the return of several characters from Rebels including Ezra Bridger (Eman Esfandi), Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo), and Hera Syndulla (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), and Chopper will also be included in the series. So it makes sense Zeb will be a part of it as well.
Anyway, The Mandalorian Season 3 has been so awesome so far! It has not disappointed and it’s great to see that The Mandalorian now have a place they can call home. It’s now up to Bo Katan to reunite them!
