Kevin Feige Addresses Possibility of a Marvel and DC Crossover - "I Think About it Occasionally"
Fans have wondered for a long time if one day we will ever see some kind of Marvel and DC crossover in the movies. The potential for that is better than ever with Kevin Feige at Marvel Studios and former Marvel director James Gunn now heading up DC Studios, but it’s still a long shot.
During a recent interview with Collider, Feige was asked about a potential crossover movie that would bring together characters from the Marvel and DC Cinematic Universes, and he admitted that it is something he thinks about.
Feige said: "I think about it occasionally, like any fan would think about it. I don't know when in the heck that would ever happen, or how that would happen. But we've been talking too long for me to go, ‘Never! We'd never be able to do that.’”
“We'll never say never, but no, no plans. I've seen the paparazzi shots of the Superman set looking cool. So he's focusing on that. We're focusing on [Deadpool and Wolverine]."
It would be interesting to see what that collaboration would look like and what kind of movie would come from that partnership. While it could happen one day, we know that it’s not going to happen anytime soon.
DC is just getting started under Gunn’s guidance and there’s a whole universe there that needs to be set up before anyone would even begin to seriously talk about a crossover between the two universes.
Gunn talked about this last year, saying: “I think that it would look like something that would be happening in about 10 years. Not today, because we have a whole bunch of other DC movies we need to tell. But yeah, I think it could be cool.”
Do you think that something like this could ever happen? Do you think a great movie would come out of it? What would you want to see from it?
