Liv Tyler's Betty Ross Spotted in Set Photos For CAPTAIN AMERICA: NEW WORLD ORDER
Just the other day it was announced that Liv Tyler would be reprising her role as Betty Ross in Marvel’s upcoming film Captain America: New World Order. Today we’ve got some photos from the set of the film to share with you featuring Tyler shooting the film with Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson.
The characters are attending a funeral, and as you will see, Sam Wilson has his left arm in a sling. There’s no information on whose funeral this is or how Wilson got hurt, but it’s cool to see Tyler back in this role after 15 years.
Betty Ross is the daughter of General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, a military official who was previously played by William Hurt. The character is now being played by Harrison Ford, and Ross will be the President of the United States in the movie.
While there aren’t many story details to share in regard to the story, it was previously explained that it will see Captain America face off with Thunderbolt Ross. Producer Nate Moore said: "Harrison Ford is taking on the role of General Thaddeus 'Thunderbolt' Ross, and to see Sam Wilson and Thunderbolt Ross, which if you remember actually threw him in prison at the end of Civil War because he violated the Sokovia Accords. There's going to be some natural sparks there, which I think are going to be really fun."
Captain America: New World Order is one of the upcoming Phase Five films in the MCU. Julius Onah (The Cloverfield Paradox) is set to direct the film from a script penned by Dalan Musson and Malcolm Spellman, both of whom wrote for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Spellman will produce with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige.
New World Order hits theaters on May 3, 2024.
