Steven Yeun (Nope, Minari, Invincible) is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe! He has been cast in the upcoming Thunderbolts movie! We don’t know who exactly he’s playing, but the part is said to be “not only significant to this film but could also play a role going forward in future films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”
He joins a great ensemble cast that includes Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Julie Louis-Dreyfus as Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Wyatt Russell as US Agent, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster, and of course, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova. Then there’s Harrison Ford, who is taking on the role of General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross who is going to be President of the United States in Captain America: New World Order. Ayo Edebiri also joined the cast n an undisclosed role.
We don’t know much about what the story for Thunderbolts will entail, but recently learned a new detail about the Thunderbolts team from Kevin Feige, and he shared that Bucky Barnes is set to lead the team in the movie.
The film is being directed by Jake Schreier (Paper Towns, Kidding), from a script by Eric Pearson (Thor: Ragnarok, Black Widow) and Kurt Busiek. Thunderbolts is set to premiere on July 26th, 2023.
