Marvel Officially Releases AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY X-Men Teaser Trailer

Marvel Studios just dropped the third teaser trailer for Avengers: Doomsday, and this one is aimed straight at longtime X-Men fans. With the film deep into post-production, the studio is slowly teasing what’s going to be one of the most ambitious Marvel Cinematic Universe events yet.

Directed by Joe Russo and Anthony Russo, the movie is set to hit theaters at the end of the year, with Avengers: Secret Wars already locked in as the follow-up in 2027. Marvel has been playing the long game with these teasers, and each one has spotlighted a different corner of the MCU and beyond.

The first Avengers: Doomsday teaser, which played in front of Avatar: Fire and Ash, delivered a massive reveal by confirming Chris Evans is returning as Steve Rogers. The second arrived last week and shifted focus to Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, setting the stage for something even bigger.

Now, the third teaser has landed, and it officially brings the X-Men into the conversation. The footage features the return of James Marsden as Cyclops, also known as Scott Summers, alongside Patrick Stewart’s Professor X and Ian McKellen’s Magneto.

Marsden famously played Cyclops across several Fox-era X-Men films and hasn’t appeared in the role since a cameo in X-Men: Days of Future Past back in 2014. Thsi is a big moment for fans who’ve been waiting to see these characters properly folded into the MCU.

Marvel is letting each teaser have its own moment while building toward a much larger payoff. With legacy characters colliding and familiar faces stepping back into their roles, Avengers: Doomsday is shaping up to be a crossover event on a whole different level.

Avengers: Doomsday arrives in theaters on December 18, 2026. Avengers: Secret Wars follows on December 17, 2027.
