Marvel Studios Releases First Trailer for ECHO - "No Bad Deed Goes Unpunished"
Marvel has released the first trailer for its upcoming Hawkeye spinoff series Echo, and it actually looks like it might be a good show! I mean, trailers can be deceiving, but I am hoping that the show delivers something awesome that fans will enjoy.
I do like this character, and I would love nothing more than for this series to do her justice and tell a great story for her. I know there’s been a lot of rumors and behind the scenes drama with this show, but maybe the creative team actually pulled off making a decent show in the end.
The series centers on Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox) as she “struggles to reconnect with her Native American roots while balancing aspirations tied to a life of crime as successor to the brutal legacy of Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio) aka Kingpin. In the first episode, we are introduced to Maya Lopez and her struggles."
When talking about the series, when Echo director and executive producer Sydney Freeland was asked about Kingpin’s presence in the series, the director responded: "I will say very large. Yeah. It's one of the core relationships in the entire series, the relationship between Kingpin and Maya. And we'll come to sort of find out that he becomes a kind of surrogate father to her. It's one of the core relationships in the entire series, I'll say that much."
Echo is being developed by Etan Cohen and Emily Cohen, who are writers and executive producers on the show. The series also stars Charlie Cox, Zahn McClarnon, Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal, Cody Lightning, Devery Jacobs, and Graham Greene.
All five episodes will drop on Disney+ and Hulu on April 9th, 2024. Watch the trailer and let us know what you think!
