Marvel's MOON KNIGHT Will Reportedly Feature Werewolf By Night

A few months ago we learned that the Marvel character Werewolf By Night would appear in an upcoming Marvel Studios project. Well, MCU Cosmic is now reporting that Werewolf By Night will make his MCU debut in the Disney+ series Moon Knight.

It would make sense for the character to appear in Moon Knight, after all, Moon Knight made his comic book debut in Werewolf by Night #32 and the characters have had strong ties ever since. We don’t know how big of a role that Werewolf By Night will have in the series but it’ll be fun and interesting to see how he’s utilized.

There’s also a rumor that a solo spinoff film for Werewolf By Night is being explored by Marvel. He could also tie into Marvel’s Blade movie as well.

If you’re not familiar with Werewolf By Night, his real name is Jack Russell and he is a victim of an ancient family curse and struggled for years with his bestial alter-ego. “But over time has conquered his inner demons. Now he fights the dark forces that plague our world. He is an enforcer of justice, an avenger of shadows, and a Werewolf By Night.”

The Moon Knight series is also said to include the villains Bushman and Stained Glass Scarlett. Moon Knight is currently being developed by Jeremy Slater (The Umbrella Academy) and his writing team. While it’s just a rumor, what do you think about the possibility of Werewolf By Night being featured in Moon Knight?

In the comics, Marc Spector, a.k.a. Moon Knight, was a CIA agent turned mercenary where he made millions. His wealth from being a mercenary and investments land him anywhere between $50 million to $3 billion in net worth. Yet during his last mercenary job, Spector was left for dead by a former colleague.

Spector dragged himself through the sands of the desert to the tomb of Konshu, the Egyptian moon god. There he was pronounced dead but resurrected at the hands of Konshu. The resurrection took a toll and he ended up developing a multiple personality disorder. When he returned to New York, he created two new personalities, Steven Grant, and Jake Lockley. Grant was the millionaire womanizer, while Lockley was a cab driver.

It was after developing these other personalities when he took on the mantle of Moon Knight. Konshu granted Spector with increased physical capabilities and periodic prophetic visions at night; yet even Spector himself was unsure whether Konshu was yet another personality of his own creation. Even still, Moon Knight operates with an arsenal of technology, vehicles and costumes to suit his needs.
