Marvel's THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER Brings on a New Writer

Fresh off his Oscar win for Best Adapted Screenplay for Jojo Rabbit, Taika Waititi is now focusing on his next project, which is Marvel’s Thor: Love and Thunder. The filmmaker is bringing in some help to craft the story and script for the film as he’s hired Jennifer Kaytin Robinson.

Robinson is the writer and director of the Netflix film Someone Great and she will work on the script with Waititi leading up to the production start date later this year.

Chris Hemsworth is set to reprise his role as Thor, Natalie Portman will be back as Jane Foster, who will also be Thor, Tessa Thompson will once again kick ass in the role of Valkyrie, and Waititi will return as Korg. Christian Bale will also join the cast, but we don’t know who he is playing yet. It’s been rumored that he could be playing Beta Ray Bill or an intergalactic villain.

We still don’t know much about the story, but according to Waititi, it’s going to be “bigger and louder and more bombastic. It's only interesting to me if we're doubling down on how nuts Ragnarok was."

Waititi has also teased the film could incorporate Jane Foster’s breast cancer story arc. That’s quite a powerful story and hope that this is the direction that they take her story. It would make complete sense if they did.

Disney will release Thor: Love and Thunder on November 5th, 2021.
