Michelle Rodriguez and Tyrese Gibson Will Return for FAST AND FURIOUS 9
It’s no secret that Michelle Rodriguez and Tyrese Gibson have both considered leaving the Fast and Furious franchise at certain points, each for their own reasons. But according to That Hashtag Show, it looks like that will be coming along for at least one more ride.
Rodriguez and Gibson have reportedly signed up for Fast and Furious 9, which will be released after the Hobbs and Shaw spinoff film, which has caused a lot of drama between Dwayne Johnson, Vin Diesel, and Gibson. In fact, that’s when Gibson threatened to walk away.
As for Rodriguez, she threatened to leave the franchise if the studio didn’t improve the quality of the roles available to women. Since then, Diesel teased that his pitch for a female-driven Fast and Furious film was picked up by Universal.
There are no details on what Fast and Furious 9 will entail, but we know that it will involve fast cars and I imagine a heist of some kind.
Vin Diesel previously announced that director Justin Lin and actress Jordana Brewster will return for Fast and Furious 9 and Fast and Furious 10.
Fast and Furious 9 is set for an April 10, 2020 release date.
