Neve Campbell Says SCREAM VII Will Focus on Sidney Prescott
The seventh chapter of the Scream franchise is in development, and we’ve got a bit of new information to share with you, thanks to Neve Campbell.
The actress recently talked to Entertainment Tonight and she said that the focus of Scream VII will revolve around Sydney Prescott.
She explained: “We are going to follow Sidney. They did pitch the concept to me, and it’s the reason that I jumped on board.”
Prescott goes on to say that she has yet to receive the final script for the movie, but is hoping to get it soon.
The actress added: “I love these movies, they are so much fun to be a part of, I’m so grateful for them, I could never have imagined being a part of a movie that would have lasted this many decades.”
The film will be directed by franchise creator Kevin Williamson, and the story is said to involve Sid’s two kids. Apparently, Sid and Gale will find themselves facing off with some kind of Ghostface cult.
It was also rumored that the story will involve a "big time jump" following the events of the last movie. The reason for this is so that Sidney's children have grown to an appropriate slasher movie age.
The movie will also star Courtney Cox as Gale Weathers and Patrick Dempsey as Detective Mark Kincaid, who is also Sid’s husband.
