New AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY and SECRET WARS Rumors Shed Light on Spider-Man, Doctor Doom, Loki, Deadpool, and More

Some new rumors have surfaced about Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, revealing some interesting new details about Marvel’s plans for characters like Doctor Doom, Spider-Man, Loki, Deadpool, and even Thanos.

There’s been a lot of speculation on how Doomsday would handle Doctor Doom, given that the movie was originally conceived as Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. With the focus shifting away from Kang, Doom is now positioned to take center stage.

Meanwhile, rumors continue to hint that Secret Wars could serve as a MCU reset, setting the stage for a fresh new Marvel era.

According to The Cosmic Circus, Robert Downey Jr.’s Victor Von Doom may not be a long-term fixture in the MCU. Insider Alex Perez claims, “He's still hearing that the actor will bid farewell to the role after Secret Wars, countering reports of him sticking around as the villain. However, it's said, 'There's a reason he has that face.'”

Tom Holland’s Spider-Man is said to play a key role in Doomsday, though his character arc will largely be shaped by his solo film, which will hit theaters between Doomsday and Secret Wars.

If fans were hoping the Avengers movies would tackle the fallout from Spider-Man: No Way Home, it doesn’t look like that will be the case. Instead, Peter Parker’s struggles will unfold in his standalone film, as we expected.

It’s also explained that “He’ll be so consumed by his role as Spider-Man that it doesn’t just mask his identity, but it’ll mask how he’s really feeling, leading to a lot of unresolved issues and repressed emotions that could slip out from time to time, but won’t be addressed until his own solo movie.”

Deadpool will reportedly be one of the “champions” of his universe, offering more insight into the concept of Anchor Beings while delivering his signature humor. “Also, comic relief. Lots and lots of comic relief.”

As for Loki, Marvel Studios apparently has no intention of killing off the God of Mischief in these films despite the likely threat from Doom. Instead, Loki is on a path to reunite with Thor.

It’s teased: “However, there will be a shift that takes him off his throne at the End of Time.” Additionally, fans can expect to see a Thanos Variant emerge in Battleworld at some point.

One of the more intriguing reveals involves The Void, a location first introduced in Loki that may play a critical role in these films.

“The Void is one of the very few places in the entire multiverse that is safe from the end of the Multiverse. It is also the home of some interesting characters we’ll see soon enough.”

Other returning characters could be She-Hulk (though it’s unclear whether she’ll appear in an Avengers film) and Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury, who is reportedly set for Doomsday following his last appearance in The Marvels.

There’s a lot to take in here, and while these details should be taken with a grain of salt because they are rumors, there’s not doubt that these two films primed to shake up the franchise in a way we haven’t seen since the Infinity Saga, fans have plenty to look forward to.

Avengers: Doomsday is set to be released in May 2026, with Avengers: Secret Wars scheduled to arrive in May 2027.
