New Character and Casting Info Revealed For Lucasfilm's OBI-WAN KENOBI Series with Naomi Scott in The Running

Some new casting and character details have surfaced for Lucasfilm’s highly anticipated live-action Star Wars series focusing on Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi.

According to The Illuminerdi there are four roles currently being cast for the series, with one being listed as a co-lead to Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan Kenobi. Those characters include:

Riley (aka Eve) - Female (20-25) CO-LEAD – A female BIPOC whose character details are being kept under wraps

Tia - Female (30s) SUPPORTING – BIPOC

Harold - Male (Late 20s-30s) SUPPORTING – A quirky, comedic male

Bella - Female (40s) SUPPORTING – Latin

Like all of the Star Wars projects, this series will introduce a diverse cast of characters and actors. Some of the actors that are up for these roles include Thuso Mbedu (The Underground Railroad), Anula Navlekar (What The Folks), and Naomi Scott (Power Rangers, Charlies Angels). All of these actresses have received callbacks. Naomi Scott is up for the role of "Riley.” The other actresses might be up for that role as well.

Deborah Chow (Better Call Saul, American Gods, The Mandalorian) will direct the series as well as serve as showrunner, with Hossein Amini (Drive, McMafia) and Joby Harold (Awake, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword) writing.

There have been some rumored details on the story that the series will tell. It’s said that Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader will appear in the show and that the story primarily revolves around Darth Vader’s hunt for his former Master, Obi-Wan. This has yet to be confirmed.

The show will be a standalone series and it will start shooting in March of next year. It’ll be exciting to see how this series turns out and what story it ends up telling.
