New DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE Concept Art Reveals Cool Alternate Blade Designs
Some new concept art has been shared for Deadpool & Wolverine and they include more alternate character designs for Wesley Snipe’s Blade.
Some of these designs are really cool and actually better than what we ended up seeing in the film. The concept art below was created by artist Wesley Burt, who included the following note with the art:
“Some of the early ideas I did for the Blade we meet in the void for Deadpool & Wolverine, more in the upcoming artbook!
“I did a handful of others, and with all of mine I was mainly looking to get the flavor of the original Blade films but also thinking about where he might be as a slightly older guy now and in a different era/context, was also really fun to work a classic comic look homage in here too.
“Blade is my favorite comicbook movie and one of my fav characters, so it was a dream to get to do some concepts for him, especially when knowing that the great @realwesleysnipes was returning to his iconic role 🖤”
It was awesome seeing Snipes back as Blade in the movie and Ryan Reynolds has been campaigning for him to get his own fourth movie… described as a “Logan-like send-off.” It would be cool to see that happen, but with Marvel Studios still trying to get their Mahershala Ali Blade movie off the ground, it probably won’t happen.
