New Image From TRON: ARES Released as Director Talks About Nine Inch Nails Soundtrack

A cool new image has been released for Tron: Ares, which offers another look at Jared Leto’s character. I can’t wait to finally see a trailer for this movie to see what exactly it’s going to deliver.

The movie comes from director Joachim Rønning and during a recent interview with Empire, he talked about the film’s Nine Inch Nails soundtrack.

He said: “With Nine Inch Nails making the music, this instalment will be a little grittier, a little bit more industrial. It’s been important for me to contrast The Grid and the real world. In that sense, Nine Inch Nails lends itself perfectly into this new Tron world that we are creating.”

When talking about the story, the director said: “What I always look for in any story is a strong emotional core. This film will probably be more emotional than people are expecting. It’s about the cost of being human.”

The film follows a highly sophisticated Program, Ares, “who is sent from the digital world into the real world on a dangerous mission, marking humankind’s first encounter with A.I. beings.”

The movie also stars Cameron Monaghan (Star Wars Jedi), Evan Peters (WandaVision), Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith (Without Remorse), Greta Lee, Hasan Minhaj, Arturo Castro, and Gillian Anderson. Jeff Bridges is also returning to the world of Tron.

Rønning previously talked about the movie, saying: "I’m excited to be part of the TRON franchise and bring this new film to fans around the world.

TRON: Ares builds upon the legacy of cutting-edge design, technology and storytelling. Now more than ever, it feels like the right time to return to the Grid."

Jesse Wigutow and Jack Thorne wrote the script. The film arrives in theaters on October 10, 2025.
