New Poster For WONDER WOMAN 1984 Features Kristen Wiig as Cheetah
A new promo poster has surfaced for director Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman 1984 and one of them gives us a decent look at Kristen Wiig in the role of Cheetah. This might be our best look yet at Wiig in her villainous Cheetah form. She looks like Cheetara from Thundercats!
When previously talking about Wiig in the role of Cheetah, the director said:
"We were super fans of Kristen, and we love how funny she is, but I've also been a huge admirer of what a great actress she is for a long time. So when we needed someone to go all the way from one end of the spectrum of being funny, sweet Diana's friend, all the way to a totally different place, we knew that Kristen Wiig would kill it, and she went beyond our wildest dreams."
The story picks up with Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) as she’s working at the Natural History Museum in Washington, D.C., and she’s been living a quiet, lonely life since the events of the first movie. But she’s still just trying to help the people who need it.
Producer Charles Roven previously shared some additional info, saying:
"She has not only had the loss of [Chris Pine’s] Steve Trevor. [but] she’s lost nearly all the people that are important to her because they’re not immortal, and her life is actually quite lonely and spartan. In fact, the only joy that she gets out of it is when she’s actually doing something for people, if she can help those in need."
Wonder Woman 1984 also stars Chris Pine as Steve Trevor and Pedro Pascal as Maxwell Lord. The movie is set to hit theaters on October 2, 2020.
