New YELLOWSTONE Spinoff Looks to Cast Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell; Story Details Revealed
Taylor Sheridan is prepping his Yellowstone spinoff series, which was previously announced as Yellowstone: 2024. This is the project that would be set after the events of the Yellowstone flagship series which ends with Season 5.
The project is currently going by the new title of The Madison, and producers are in negotiations with Michelle Pfeiffer, Kurt Russell, and Suits star Patrick J. Adams to star in the series.
According to TV Line, The Madison is said to “follow wealthy matriarch Stacy Clyburn and her family as they leave New York City and head to Montana in the wake of her husband and brother-in-law’s tragic deaths in a plane crash.”
The ensemble cast is still being finalized, but other CST members may also include Beau Garrett (The Good Doctor, Firefly Lane).
Matthew McConaughey was supposed to star in the series along with original cast members Kelly Reilly, Cole Hauser and Luke Grimes reprising their roles of Beth Dutton, Rip Wheeler and Kayce Dutton.
We don’t know if Russell will be taking on the role that McConaughey was originally supposed to play or taking on a new character entirely. We also don’t know if any of the other actors from Yellowstone will be involved.
The spinoff is scheduled to begin production later this month in Montana, New York and Texas. It’s expected to premiere sometime in 2025 following the conclusion of the mothership’s Season 5B, which debuts on November 10th.
