Olivia Colman Talks About Her SECRET INVASION Marvel Character; Samuel L. Jackson Expresses His Excitement to Work With Colman
Academy Award-winning actress Olivia Colman (The Favourite, The Lost Daughter, Heartstopper) is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the upcoming Disney+ series Secret Invasion. She is set to play Special Agent Sonya Falsworth, a character whom we know little about, but the actress shared what she could regarding her in a recent interview with Empire Magazine, where she expressed her disappointment in not having super powers:
“I kept asking if I could be bitten by something or fall into a vat of something. They were having none of it.”
Colman’s Agent Falsworth will act both as Nick Fury’s ally and adversary due to their different methods in handling the fight against rogue Skrulls. In the same interview, Marvel veteran Samuel L. Jackson, who is returning to his role of Nick Fury, expressed his pure excitement to work alongside Colman for the first time, saying:
“I thought, ‘How lucky can I be to know that today is finally going to be the day I get to act with Olivia Colman?’ The next thing you know, we were having the most fun you could ever have, sitting there pretending to be these two people that have had a long relationship seeing each other again for the first time in years.”
The star-studded cast of the series also includes Ben Mendelsohn, Cobie Smulders, Martin Freeman, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Charlayne Woodard, Killian Scott, Samuel Adewunmi, Dermot Mulroney, Christopher McDonald, Katie Finneran, with Emilia Clarke and Olivia Colman.
Secret Invasion is streaming on Disney+ beginning June 21st.
