Oscar Isaac to Star in Marvel's MOON KNIGHT Series

Oscar Isaac is in negotiations to take on the lead role in Marvel’s highly anticipated upcoming series Moon Knight, which is coming to Disney+. This is actually a great casting choice! Isaac seems like a great fit for the role. It was only a matter of time before Isaac joined the MCU, and I’m excited to see how he brings this awesome character to life.

This isn’t the first Marvel project that Isaac has starred in; he did play Apocalypse in X-Men: Apocalypse, but that movie was a big disappointment. Moon Knight is going to be a much better Marvel project for him, and this is a role where he’ll be able to stretch his acting abilities more. After all, he will be playing a guy with multiple alternate personalities.

Here’s the synopsis for the series:

Moon Knight — who showed up as a good guy in 1975’s Werewolf by Night No. 32 — is the vigilante alter ego of mercenary Marc Spector, but it’s actually more complicated than that: Spector also has a couple of other alter egos (millionaire Steven Grant and cab driver Jake Lockley) that may or may not be separate, alternate personalities, and the same may be true of Khonshu, the Egyptian deity who is either guiding Spector through his costumed adventures or a figment of Spector’s imagination. In recent years, another persona has emerged: 'Mr. Knight,' a police consultant who dresses in all white and wears a mask while solving unusual crimes.

The head of the writing team for Moon Knight, Jeremy Slater (The Umbrella Academy), previously talked about the series, saying:

“I was seven when I bought my first Marvel comic, and my life was changed on the spot. It’s no exaggeration to say that joining the MCU is the single greatest honor of my career. I’m thrilled and terrified and deliriously happy. And while I won’t be able tell you anything in regards to story or casting, I *can* tell that you we’ve assembled a room full of brilliant writers who truly love this character, and we’re all hard at work crafting something special for you. So stick around and stay tuned. Moon Knight is on the way, and it’s going to be one hell of a ride”

Beau DeMayo, who is known for his work on The Originals and The Witcher, is also helping write the series. Marvel and Disney+ are still on the hunt for a director for the series. No production start date has been set.

Moon Knight is also rumored to tie into Marvel’s Blade movie, and Werewolf by Night, Stained Glass Scarlet, and Dracula could be involved with the story as well.
