Pedro Pascal Drops Out of WEAPONS Horror Film Due To FANTASTIC FOUR Commitment

The Last of Us and The Mandalorian star Pedro Pascal was set to star in an upcoming new horror film titled Weapons, which is coming from Zach Cregger, the director of Barbarian. I was excited to see the actor in that film, but unfortunately, he had to drop out due to his commitment to Marvel Studios for Fantastic Four.

This bit of news comes from entertainment journalist Jeff Sneider as Fantastic Four's production has been pushed into the back half of 2024, which is what created the scheduling conflict with Weapons. Marvel has yet to confirm that Pascal has been cast as Reed Richards, but he has.

Not much is known about Weapons, but the story is described as a “multi and inter-related story horror epic centered around witchcraft and missing children.” It’s also said that the movie “tonally is in the vein of Magnolia, the 1999 actor-crammed showcase from filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson."

It will be interesting to see who Cregger ends up casting to replace Pascal in his film.
