PUNISHER: ONE LAST KILL Trailer Unleashes a Brutal, Rage-Fueled Rampage
Marvel isn’t easing up on Frank Castle anytime soon. The first trailer for Punisher: One Last Kill has dropped, and it throws Jon Bernthal’s relentless anti-hero straight into chaos.
The Disney+ special arrives May 12, landing just one week after the Season 2 finale of Daredevil: Born Again, and it looks like it’s bringing the raw, violent energy fans have been craving. The trailer doesn’t hold back showing us how violent this special is going to be.
Right out of the gate, the footage puts Castle through hell. It’s build up to him literally set on fire, stumbling through flames while he’s haunted by disturbing visions and voices of his past echoing in his head.
It’s disorienting, intense, and teases that this story isn’t just about brute force, it’s digging into the psychological damage that’s always fueled the character.
At the same time, the core of Punisher remains intact: a man on a mission, armed and dangerous, carving his way through enemies with ruthless efficiency.
Details on the plot are still under wraps, but the special is directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green, who also co-wrote the script alongside Bernthal.
For longtime fans, this is another chapter in a journey that started back on Netflix. Bernthal first stepped into the role during Season 2 of Daredevil, instantly making an impression as Frank Castle, a former soldier turned vigilante after the murder of his family.
He walked the line between ally and adversary to Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock, bringing a harsher, more lethal perspective to justice. That led to two seasons of The Punisher, where Castle’s war on crime took center stage.
Since then, Marvel has folded its street-level heroes into the MCU proper. Shows like Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Defenders found a new home on Disney+, and Cox’s Daredevil made the leap first with a cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
His story continued in Daredevil: Born Again, where Bernthal returned as Punisher and joined forces with Daredevil to go up against Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin, now operating as New York City’s mayor.
By the end of that season, Castle was locked up by Kingpin’s forces, only to break free in the post-credits scene, setting the stage for what’s coming next.
Punisher: One Last Kill looks like the direct fallout from that escape, and if the trailer is any indication, he’s not holding anything back. This isn’t the last we’ll see of him either. Bernthal is also set to appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day later this summer, keeping the Punisher firmly embedded in Marvel’s evolving lineup.
For now, though, this special looks like an awesome and focused blast of everything that makes the character tick with his pain, rage, and a whole lot of firepower. The trailer promises a vicious ride, and if it delivers on that intensity, fans are in for something seriously wild.
