Marvel's THE PUNISHER: ONE LAST KILL Will Reportedly Tease Jean Grey in Post-Credits Scene

Marvel fans might want to keep their eyes glued to the screen after the credits roll on the upcoming The Punisher: One Last Kill special presentation, because if a new rumor pans out, it could hint at a pretty major character finally entering the MCU.

Marvel Studios is developing a Disney+ television special centered on The Punisher, with Jon Bernthal returning as Frank Castle.

The project is being directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green, who also co-wrote the script alongside Bernthal. That alone makes this feel like a passion-driven story, and it’s already shaping up to be something a little more grounded and intense compared to Marvel’s usual lineup.

According to scooper @Majestic_ucm, the special may not just be a standalone story. It could include a post-credits scene that ties into something much bigger in the MCU. Specifically, it may involve Jean Grey.

“This premieres in June, and I was told the post-credits scene is related to Jean Grey and Damage Control,” the post reads. “I also heard they’re revealing the release date for the second Spider-Man trailer, BrandNewday.”

As always, this is unconfirmed and should be taken with a grain of salt. Still, it lines up with the growing chatter around the X-Men slowly making their way into the MCU. Jean Grey is one of the most important mutants in Marvel Comics, so even a small tease would be a huge deal.

There’s also been ongoing speculation that Sadie Sink could be stepping into the role, though nothing official has been announced. What we do know is that Sink is already set to appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Secret Wars, which adds fuel to the theory that Marvel is planting seeds early.

Speaking of Spider-Man, Bernthal’s Punisher will show up in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and that connection suggests the special could act as a bridge between street-level storytelling and the larger MCU narrative. We’ll just have to wait and see how exactly that plays out

As for the release timing, the rumor claims the special will drop in June, though Marvel hasn’t officially locked in a premiere date yet. There’s also no confirmation from Sony about when the next Brand New Day trailer will arrive.

Looking ahead, Marvel’s schedule is packed. Spider-Man: Brand New Day lands this summer, followed by Avengers: Doomsday on December 18, 2026, and then Avengers: Secret Wars on December 17, 2027.
