Rad New Trailer For STAR WARS: SKELETON CREW Delivers The GOONIES and 80s Vibes

Lucasfilm has released a new trailer for the Disney+ series Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, and this thing really leans into the whole 80s vibe of the story that the creative team was looking to capture.

The idea of the series was a Goonies-style Star Wars adventure, and it looks like that’s exactly what this is going to be. It definitely captures that Amblin vibe from the 80s films that a lot of us grew up with, and I love it!

This is a very unique and different kind of Star Wars project and it’s been described as ”a galactic version of classic Amblin coming-of-age adventure films of the ’80s.”

Skeleton Crew looks like it’s going to deliver a incredibly fun show that both kids and adults will enjoy. I would’ve loved a Star Wars story like this when I was a kid!

Skeleton Crew follows the journey of four kids “who make a mysterious discovery on their seemingly safe home planet, then get lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy, crossing paths with the likes of Jod Na Nawood, the mysterious character played by Law.

“Finding their way home—and meeting unlikely allies and enemies—will be a greater adventure than they ever imagined.”

The series was created by Jon Watts (Spider-Man) and it also stars Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Kyriana Kratter, Robert Timothy Smith, and Ryan Kiera Armstrong. Nick Frost also stars in the series as a droid.

The episodes in the show will be directed by Bryce Dallas Howard, The Daniels, David Lowery, Jake Schreier, and Lee Isaac Chung. The Mandalorian's Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni will executive produce.

The film will stream on Disney+ on December 3, 2024, with the first two episodes. Check out the new trailer below and let us know what you think!
