Robert Pattinson Jokes About THE BATMAN Sequel Delays Saying He Could Be Retiring by the End of Them

Robert Pattinson silenced all the naysayers when he donned the cape and cowl for director Matt Reeves’s The Batman.

Though Bruce Wayne’s Dark Knight is one of the most reinvented superheroes out there, Pattinson brought his own interpretation and swagger to the role, making it one of the most successful films of 2022.

A sequel was quickly announced, but instead of trailers and storylines for the next film, fans have only heard about delays.

In response to the setbacks, Pattinson joked to The New York Times, “I could genuinely be retiring by the end of them.” So we don’t have any news about the film speeding back up.

We are still set for a 2026 release, and though we know that a third film is planned, there’s no telling when that cap to the trilogy will emerge.

In the meantime, Pattinson has some other high profile films in the works. First up is director Bong Joon Ho’s sci-fi comedy, Mickey 17, which will hit theaters on April 18th.

He is also about to embark on Christopher Nolan’s mysterious next project for Universal, alongside a star-studded cast that includes Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Charlize Theron, Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, and Lupita Nyong'o.
