Robin is Rumored To Play a Part in Matt Reeves' THE BATMAN
Last week it was confirmed that Robert Pattinson would be the actor to take on the role of Bruce Wayne a.k.a. Batman in Matt Reeves’ The Batman trilogy. Batman obviously won’t be alone in the movie as he is sure to be joined by several familiar characters from the comic book series.
We’ve already heard that there might be half a dozen villains in the film and that could include the likes of Catwoman, Penguin, and Riddler, just to name a few. Well, thanks to a recent report from Forbes, we’ve learned that Robin might also be showing up in the movie along with characters like Commissioner Gordon and Alfred.
While Gordon and Alfred are no surprise because they show up in every Batman adaptation, seeing Robin back up on the big screen alongside Batman would be interesting. We haven’t seen Robin and Batman fight alongside each other on the big screen since Joel Schumacher’s 1997 film Batman & Robin. Warner Bros. and the filmmakers tend to stay away from Robin.
There’s no mention of what version of Robin the story could utilize, but there are several choices including Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, Damian Wayne, Carrie Kelly or Stephanie Brown. I guess it all depends on where Reeves is looking to take the story over the course of three films.
Reeves’ Batman movie “tracks Bruce Wayne in the formative stages of Batman,” and we know that the film will tell a Batman noir story that focuses on the character in detective mode.
What version of Robin would you like to see used and who would you like to see play the character?
