Robin Wright Will Reprise Her General Antiope Role in WONDER WOMAN 1984

Just in case you were wondering if Robin Wright would be returning to reprise her role of General Antiope in Wonder Woman 1984... the answer is yes.

The news comes from the website Porter, who recently did a profile on the actress. They explain that she is headed out to Spain to shoot a sequence which will also involve Connie Nielsen's Hippolyta. There are no other details provided.

Just in case you don't remember, Antiope was gunned down in the first Wonder Woman film by a German soldier, but if they can bring Chris Pine's Steve Trevor back from the dead, then there shouldn't be a problem bringing Antiope back as well. Or, maybe they'll just include her in a flashback scene that sheds will some light on the villain.

The story is set in 1984 and is said to follow Diana Prince as she reunites with Steve Trevor to fight a new evil force. The movie also stars Gal Gadot, Kristen Wiig as the villain Cheetah, and Pedro Pascal will be a "key role." You can read some rumored information about who he might be playing here. If there is a flashback scene with Antiope, maybe this is the character that we will get some history on.

WB screened some extremely fun footage of Wonder Woman 1984 at Comic-Con in July and you can read our description of it here in case you missed it.

The film is being directed by Patty Jenkins from a screenplay written by director Jenkins, Geoff Johns, and Dave Callaham. The film will be released on November 1, 2019.
