Ryan Reynolds' New Heist Comedy Project Acquired by Netflix After a Hollywood Bidding War
Ryan Reynolds has a global heist comedy project that he’s been developing, and after a big Hollywood bidding war, Netflix ended up winning the deal and acquired the project. The project ended up selling for seven figures. Reynolds will also be reteaming with Deadpool 3 director Shawn Levy, who will direct the movie.
The script is being written by Dana Fox and Simon Kinberg is producing alongside Reynolds. The film doesn’t have a title or story details yet, but according to Deadline, “it has great parts for an ensemble in the spirit of an Ocean’s Eleven. It is also set in the international arena. The idea originated from Fox and Kinberg, and they pitched it to Reynolds and Maximum Effort.”
Reynolds and Kinberg have worked together in the past on the Deadpool which they are both producers on. They are currently shooting Deadpool 3, and Reynolds will get to this next project of his sometime within the next couple of years.
