Sadie Sink Reportedly Locks in Major Marvel Movie Deal Ahead of SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY

Marvel fans might want to start paying very close attention to Sadie Sink, because it sounds like her time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe could be much bigger than anyone expected.

With her upcoming debut in Spider-Man: Brand New Day already generating curiosity, a new report suggests this is only the beginning of a long-term run in the franchise.

Sink’s role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day is still under wraps, but the biggest rumor is that she’ll be stepping into the role of Jean Grey, the powerful X-Men telepath. Nothing official has been confirmed by Marvel yet, but everyone is treating it as fact right now.

Industry scooper MyTimetoShineHello recently shared that Sink has reportedly signed a deal for five MCU films, with options that could also extend into Marvel’s Disney+ series. If that ends up being accurate, Marvel may be positioning her as a key player moving forward.

There’s also word on where we might see her next. According to Deadline, Sink’s follow-up appearance after Brand New Day is expected to be in Avengers: Secret Wars, which lines up with Marvel’s larger multiverse plans.

The Jean Grey rumors got another boost thanks to insider Jeff Sneider, who revisited his earlier report during The Hot Mic podcast and doubled down, saying: “It’s true. I hear that she is, in fact, playing Jean Grey.”

If that’s the case, it sounds like this won’t be the same version of Jean Grey audiences have seen before. Scooper Cryptic HD Quality shared some interesting details about how her powers could be handled visually.

According to them, the character will feature “a new visual flair” with “more VFX,” and the presentation is being compared to Vanessa Kirby’s Sue Storm in The Fantastic Four: First Steps. They also noted that the look may take inspiration from X-Men ’97.

There’s still some mystery around the exact design choices. Cryptic HD Quality admitted they didn’t know what color her abilities would be, especially after fans debated whether they’d lean blue like X-Men ’97 or stick with the more traditional pink.

Another intriguing detail is that this version of Jean Grey has reportedly been described as a “time-displaced” iteration, which could tie directly into the MCU’s ongoing multiverse narrative.

As for the film itself, Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings into theaters on July 31, 2026. The movie is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, working from a script by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.

The cast is packed with returning favorites and some exciting additions. Tom Holland is back as Peter Parker, alongside Zendaya as MJ and Jacob Batalon as Ned. They’re joined by Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle and Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner.

It’s going to be really interesting to see how all this plays out. But, it would be funny if in the end, Sink was not playing Jean Grey, but a completely different character.
