New Trailer for SEND HELP Promises a Savage Battle Between Rachel McAdams and Dylan O'Brien
20th Century Studios has released a new trailer for Send Help, the latest feature from Sam Raimi, and it looks like the kind of nasty, clever, and darkly funny survival thriller that I’d enjoy.
The film marks Raimi’s first movie since Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and this one leans hard into psychological tension rather than superhero spectacle. From what this trailer shows, it’s a stripped-down fight for survival that puts character clashes front and center.
The story follows Linda Liddle, played by Rachel McAdams, and Bradley Preston, portrayed by Dylan O'Brien. They’re coworkers and the only survivors of a devastating plane crash that leaves them stranded on a remote island.
Linda is sharp, driven, and resourceful. Bradley is her boss, and he’s clearly a problem. Old resentments don’t disappear just because the world has fallen away, and the island quickly becomes a pressure cooker where teamwork is required but trust is hard to come by.
As the trailer makes clear, survival isn’t just about finding food or shelter. It’s about control, manipulation, and who breaks first. What starts as a desperate attempt to stay alive slowly turns into an unsettling battle of wills.
I love the tone here, with Raimi blending discomfort, dark humor, and rising menace in a way that feels very much in his wheelhouse while still feeling fresh.
McAdams looks fantastic in this role, carrying much of the film’s intensity. Watching her character size up her smug, condescending boss and refuse to be underestimated is pretty satisfying. O’Brien leans into the irritation factor perfectly, making Bradley someone you immediately root against.
Their dynamic is the engine of the movie, and the trailer does a great job teasing how volatile that relationship becomes once there’s no corporate structure left to hide behind.
Raimi directed from a screenplay by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift. The film’s score was created by Danny Elfman, which already sets expectations for a score that’s going to creep under your skin.
In addition to the new trailer, 20th Century has also released a TV spot and a fun Survivor tryout-style video featuring McAdams, adding a bit of levity around an otherwise intense setup. It’s a smart way to show off the film’s off-kilter sense of humor.
Send Help opens exclusively in theaters on January 30th, 2026, and I can’t wait to watch it!
