Savage First Trailer for Matilda Lutz's RED SONJA Movie
Millennium Media has finally released the first trailer for Matilda Lutz’s live-action Red Sonja movie! A trailer was supposed to initially drop a couple of years ago at Comic-Con, but then never did.
This movie is obviously going through some behind the scenes issues because it’s taken so damn long just to get to the point of releasing a trailer.
I’ve been very curious about this movie, and now we know what we’re in for, and well… I guess it’s what I should’ve expected. It looks like there will be some brutal and bloody action sequences, though!
In the film, “Enslaved by an evil tyrant who wishes to destroy her people, barbarian huntress Red Sonja must unite a group of unlikely warriors to face off against Dragan The Magnificent and his deadly bride, Dark Annisia.”
The movie was developed by director M.J. Bassett (Solomon Kane, Silent Hill: Revelation). The movie also stars Wallis Day (Sex/Life, Batwoman) as Annisia and Robert Sheehan (The Umbrella Academy, Misfits) as Draygan.
Additonal cast members include Michael Bisping (xXx: Return of Xander Cage) as Hawk, Martyn Ford as General Karlak (F9: The Fast Saga, Final Score), Eliza Matengu (Thor: Love and Thunder) as Amarak, Manal El Feitury (Code Red) as Ayala, and Katrina Durden (Doctor Strange, Shadow and Bone) as Saevus.
The beloved She-Devil With a Sword's story began in comics in 1973, and now 50 years later she remains the greatest sword-and-sorcery female heroine of them all!
She's hacked and slashed her way into the hearts of fantasy and comics fans all around the world. The movie will be released in theaters on August 15th and on digital platforms August 29th!
