Scarlett Johansson Reportedly Offered Lead Role in JURASSIC WORLD Reboot
Universal Pictures and director Gareth Edwards are currently developing a reboot of the Jurassic World franchise, and it’s being reported that Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) could end up starring in it.
This casting information was shared by The Insneider, which says that Universal has made an offer to Johansson to star in the movie. The report also says that the actress met with both Edwards and producer Frank Marshall at least once.
What we don’t know is if she accepted the offer, but her schedule is open to shoot the film over the summer if she chooses to do it.
Steven Spielberg is also a producer on the film and original Jurassic Park scribe David Koepp is writing the script for the movie, which will be “a completely fresh take” on the franchise. And none of the original actors from Jurassic Park or Jurassic World will return for the new movie.
Edwards previously talked about why he jumped on this Jurassic World film project, saying: "I was about to take a break and I started writing my next idea for a film and this is the only movie that would make me drop everything like a stone and dive right in. I love Jurassic Park. I think the first movie is a cinematic masterpiece... so this opportunity is like a dream to me. And to work with Frank Marshall and Universal and David Koepp, who's writing that script, I think they're all legends. So I'm just very excited."
All we can hope for is that this movie will tell a great story!
