Scrapped MAN OF STEEL 2 Idea Was Pitched To WB By PEAKY BLINDERS Creator Steven Knight
We have no idea what in the hell is going on over at Warner Bros. and DC Studios in regard to the future of the DC Cinematic Universe. There are a lot of reports coming out regarding the Snyderverse projects, especially with Henry Cavill who was supposed to reprise his role as Superman in Man of Steel 2, but there are multiple reports from studio insiders that are throwing that into doubt.
Well, it turns out that back in the Fall of 2022, Peaky Blinders and See creator Steven Knight pitched a Man of Steel sequel to Warner Bros. He wrote a treatment for the project, but according to THR, “it didn’t thrill Warner executives, who gave notes.”
It’s explained that “before things could go to the next level, which may or may not have included hiring another writer given Knight’s very busy schedule, Jame Gunn and Peter Safran were hired, and development promptly ended.”
So, while there was some movement on Man of Steel 2, that’s no longer the case. Now, I’m sure that we’ll see Superman again on the big screen, I’m just not convinced that it will be Cavill in the role. What do you all think?
