Sony Pictures Reportedly Kept Spider-Man From Appearing in DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN
It seems like Marvel Studios was trying to include Tom Halland’s Spider-Man/Peter Parker in Daredevil: Born Again. Unfortunately, Sony Pictures reportedly wouldn’t allow that.
According to a report from scooper @MyTimeToShineH, Marvel Studios attempted to include Spider-Man in Daredevil: Born Again, but Sony said no. Regardless, Spider-Man will be mentioned in the series.
It’s also explained that Spider-Man is only allowed to be used by Marvel as a member of the Avengers team. So, down the line it’s looking like we’ll see Spidey appear in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
As for Spider-Man 4, Daniel Richtman is reporting that the movie is scheduled to start shooting in the UK on May 25, 2025. Filming will then wrap in October, and Holland will then shoot his role in Avengers: Doomsday at the start of the year.
Holland previously talked about wanting to see Spider-Man and Daredevil team up, saying: "Working with Charlie was incredibly exciting. I was a big fan of the Daredevil series, and I think he’s a fantastic actor.
“He’s done a wonderful job with that character, and albeit it was a small cameo, it obviously teased the future of what could be. It was a real actors’ piece, that scene.
“We blocked the scene, which was essentially us just sitting there, and we read the lines. It was great. It felt like an actors’ workshop while working with people I really look up to, and Charlie was a lot of fun.
“It was really cool to see him snap back into a character that I am really a fan of and that he has a lot of love for, obviously. So it was pretty awesome, and I hope that one day we find a way for Spider-Man and Daredevil to team up again."
So, while we won’t see Spider-Man and Daredevil reunite in Born Again, there are plans to continue to utilize him in the MCU with the Avengers movies.
